What are adverbs?
Adverbs tell us more about the verb. They often end with -ly, but not always. They tell us where, when or how an action happens.
In order to determine the adverb, we can ask a question with the verb.
Different types of adverbs:
Adverb of time: Question: when?
I'm going to do my homework soon. When are you going to do your homework? = soon
Adverb of place: Question: where?
My book is over there. Where is my book? over there
Adverb of manner: Question: how?
She calmly asked her to sit down. How did she ask her to sit down? calmly
Adverb of frequency: Question: how often?
I wash my hair daily. How often do I wash my hair? = daily
