Verbs

• A verb is a doing or an action word.

Example: run, sing, play

• A verb is the most important part of a sentence.

• How to test if it's a verb:

Ask: Can I ... E.g. I read a book. Can I read? / Can I book?

• Tenses show us the time when it happened. Past / Present / Future

• The "to be" verb is called the linking verb.

Examples: The dog will be hungry. (Future)

The dog is hungry. (Present)

The dog was hungry. (Past)

• There are two types of verbs:
